Certified Coder
Full Time

Under general direction of the Health Information Manager, this position is responsible for coding and abstracting inpatient and outpatient medical records. The Certified Coder must have a thorough understanding of the content of the medical record in order to be able to locate information to support or provide specificity for coding. The incumbent must be trained in the anatomy and physiology of the human body and disease processes in order to understand the etiology, pathology, symptoms, signs, diagnostic studies, treatment modalities and prognosis of diseases and procedures to be coded. The Certified Coder works as part of a team to achieve the best quality patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
2. High School graduate or equivalent
3. 2+ year of certified coding experience required
4. Demonstrated understanding of health care systems, information systems and preparation of statistical data
5. 10 key by touch
6. Typing: 40-50 wpm
7. MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills
8. Membership and participation in professional organizations (AHIMA)
9. Ability to work effectively with physicians and ancillary departments
10. Maintains composure while recognizing the need for immediate response to true emergencies

Clinical Lab Scientist
Full Time – Sunday thru Thursday PM shift

Performs all laboratory tests necessary for diagnosis and treatment of patients at the request of attending physician(s). Is responsible for reporting results, which are accurate as substantiated by the use of appropriate controls. Performs and demonstrates proficiency testing and understands the routine procedures for all areas of the clinical laboratory with minimal supervision. Maintains all instrumentation as scheduled and participates in QA process. Responds to critical results by notifying caregivers. The Dietician is responsible for providing dietary/nutritional consultation to the clinical staff, patient and family in accord with the interdisciplinary plan of care. Directs and supervises entire dietary operation of CRMC. Responsible to Directors of Nursing for carrying out appropriate feeding methods/formula or meal patterns. Plans menus, provides dietary counseling and complete nutrition assessments. Oversees a wide variety of administrative, fiscal and technical activities to ensure the efficient operation of the Dietary Department.

QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Baccalaureate degree in Nutrition from an accredited university OR comparable verifiable training/experience
2. Minimum of one year of experience in a health care setting
3. Experience in working with patients who have dietary problems related to illness
4. Previous work with terminally ill patients/families is preferred
5. Current state licensure in California. Preferred membership to the American Dietetic Association
6. Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, flexibility and initiative

This position is for a brand new Rural Health Clinic at Coalinga Regional Medical Center. The Nurse Practitioner assumes primary health care of specific patients under the direction of the Rural Health Clinic Medical Director. The incumbent follows established nursing standards, procedures and practices and gives specific patient care directions to nursing staff. The Nurse Practitioner will examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, administer or order diagnostic tests, develop and implement patient management plans, document progress notes, as well as performing appropriate charting and other documentation. The Nurse Practitioner will also treat common episodic and health care conditions with an emphasis on health maintenance and disease prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Can provide documentation of a minimum of 600 hours or postgraduate onsite supervised primary care experience within the past three years in the pediatric age group to be served. Supervision of the 600 hours must have been by a family practice or pediatric physician or an internal medicine specialist who serves children 14 years of age and older. The documentation for this requirement may be, at a minimum, provided in up-to-date curriculum vitae
2. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner license
3. Possess written protocols that describe the review process by the physician of record when examination findings are suspect or abnormal
4. ACLS certificate required
5. Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
6. Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred

1. Certification as a Physician’s Assistant by the California Medical Board, or holds certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician’s Assistants
as a "P-A-C"
2. ACLS certificate required

Speech Pathologist
Per Diem only

Responsible for consultation and direction of speech pathology in the Skilled Nursing Facility. Performs diagnostic evaluations of residents with communication disorders. Administers speech and language treatment to residents. Interprets findings and treatment to resident’s families, teachers or other concerned parties. Provides guidance and counseling. Plans and conducts remedial programs designed to improve or restore communicative facility. Administers treatment in individual or group sessions with residents. May refer residents to specialists in medicine, dentistry, psychology, education or related areas. Keeps abreast of developments in the field of speech therapy by attending professional seminars and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Current California State Speech Language Pathologist license
2. Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Therapy
3. 3 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of speech pathology/therapy
4. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff
5. Must exhibited energy, enthusiasm, creativity, tact, sympathy, patience and understanding
